About Alejandro

Inorganic and Physical Chemist

Summary

Alejandro studied chemistry at Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), where he also obtained a PhD in 2012 working on the synthesis and physical chemsitry of oligonuclear transition-metal complexes. He stayed at UBA for a postdoc in ultrafast spectroscopy in 2013-2015. Next, he was awarded a post-doctoral DAAD scholarship and moved to Friedrich-Alexander Universität (FAU) in Erlangen from 2015 to 2018. There, he developed nanomaterials and molecular nanohybrids for energy conversion, focusing on excited-state dynamics. In 2018 he joined the Faculty of CONICET in Buenos Aires and established his lab at UBA, dedicated to artificial photosynthesis using metal-free nanomaterials and transition-metal complexes. Since 2020, he is also affiliated to FAU where he is undertaking a habilitation.
